The Tar Heel Tavern #63

THE TAR HEEL TAVERN #63 is here! This week's theme was immigration/family history, inspired by the immigration news of late, and we have posts ranging from discussions of proposed NC immigration legislation to strange first date doings (a cliffhanger!) to a pictorial slice of old South history. Science and Politics: StoryBlogging and more...

The history will not be written only by winners, and, gasp, by semi-automated textbook-writing committees, but by many, many eye-witnesses of the events, each bringing in something personal, a slightly different perspective, a new anecdote, a curious fact or a piece of trivia.

Sadly, I don't have a post in the carnival, having run out of time at the end of the week. I plan to write one on topic later today, and if you're a little late, too, send yours in, and I'll do an update! Thanks, all, and enjoy!
